Bhubaneshwar Power Private Limited (BPPL) is a subsidiary of Tata Steel Limited. Currently, Tata Steel Limited holds 93.58% equity shares of the Company and the remaining 6.42% is held by Tata Steel Mining Limited (Formerly known as T S Alloys Limited). Earlier, BPPL was a Joint Venture between Jasper Industries Pvt. Ltd., Tata Steel Ltd. and Tata Steel Mining Limited. Jasper Industries Limited through its SPV JL Power Ventures Pvt. Ltd had a 74% shareholding in BPPL, while Tata Steel Limited and Tata Steel Mining Limited jointly held the balance 26% shareholding. The Joint Venture was established as a 135 MW (2X67.5 MW) Thermal Captive Power Plant (CPP) at Anantapur Village, Cuttack District in Odisha, which started generating power from the year 2016 and has since then been transmitting the same to the plants of Tata Steel Limited and Tata Steel Mining Limited.
